Political system

The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government. That is, we have an indivisible union of 50 sovereign States. It is a democracy because people govern themselves. It is representative because people choose elected officials by free and secret ballot.

The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S. or US) or America, is a country mostly located in central North America, between Canada and Mexico. It consists of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions.

Demographic details

Racial proportions will shift. In 2020, non-Hispanic white people, hereafter called whites, are still the majority race in the U.S., representing 59.7% of the U.S. population

In the 2010 Census, the number of people under age 18 was 74.2 million (24.0 percent of the total population). The younger working-age population, ages 18 to 44, represented 112.8 million persons (36.5 percent). The older working-age population, ages 45 to 64, made up 81.5 million persons (26.4 percent).

Economical stability

This results in an annual growth rate of -3.8 percent in 2020 and puts the US economy on a modest recovery path of about 3.2 percent growth in 2021.

Natural environment

The climate is generally temperate in the contiguous states, but as the USA contains both Alaska and Hawaii, the climate varies from tropical to arctic. The United States is currently the most prosperous and powerful nation on the planet, with an annual GDP of around $19.36 trillion as per 2017 estimates.

Higher education system

Higher education is the third level of education after you leave school. It takes place at universities and Further Education colleges and normally includes undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
